Catherine Anne

Catherine Anne O'Hara, OC was born March 4 1954. She is a comedian actor, writer, and actress. O'Hara has been the recipient of many awards including an award from the Genie Award and a Golden Globe Award. O'Hara also won two Screen Actors Guild Awards, two Primetime Emmy Awards, six Canadian Screen Awards, and two Screen Actors Guild Awards. In the year 2018, she was made an Officer of Canada. Then, in 2020, she was presented with the Governor General's Performing Arts Lifetime Artistic Achievement award. O'Hara was first noticed as an actress while she was part of The Second City improv comedy troupe in Toronto in 1974. Alongside John Candy (1975-1978), she was part of the main casting in the sitcom Coming Up Rosie (1975-1978). O'Hara was a part of Candy on the sketch comedy series Second City Television (1976-1984). She received praise from critics for both her writing and acting skills, and was awarded the Primetime Emmy Award, 1981 for Outstanding Writing in a Variety Series. In 2022, O'Hara was added to the brand-new Second City artistic advisory board headed by Stephen Colbert, along with Steve Carell, Dwayne Colbert, Tina Fey, Keegan-Michael Key, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Jane Lynch, Tim Meadows, Peter Murrieta, Suzy Nakamura Sam Richardson, Jeff Richmond, Jason Sudeikis, and Robin Thede.
