Jennifer Rene Psaki
Jennifer Rene Psaki is a American political adviser who served as the 34th White House news secretary between 2021 and 221. A part of the Democratic Party, she previously was a part of the Obama administration as the White House deputy press secretary (2009); the White House deputy communications director (2009-2011) as well as the spokesperson for the United States Department of State (2013-2015) as well as the White House communications director (2015-2017. Psaki was a political contributor to CNN from 2017 through 2020. Psaki began her career in 2001, as an influential political contributor to CNN. She was involved in the re-election campaigns for Tom Harkin (Iowa Democrats) for the U.S. Senate, and Tom Vilsack (Iowa Governor). Psaki was then named as deputy press secretary to John Kerry's presidential campaign in 2004. Psaki was the communications director of Joseph Crowley, a U.S. Representative, as well as the regional press secretary for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee from 2005 to 2006. Psaki returned in 2012 for the field of political communications and was press secretary for President Obama's 2012 campaign for reelection. 20 February, 2013, Psaki became the spokesperson for the United States Department of State. The appointment at the Department of State fueled speculation that she would succeed White House Press Secretary Jay Carney after he left the White House,[21] but on May 30th, 2014 it was announced Josh Earnest would replace Carney. She returned to White House in 2015 to be the director of communications. She was a part of the Obama administration until its end.
